Mini Seattle Trip

Mini Seattle Trip

Well, this post is about 4 days late…

But this trip was unforgettable!

3 days and so many memories.

So, let me give you the rundown of this mini trip, and maybe give you some ideas for your next trip to Seattle, WA.

Day 1:

I arrived in Seattle driving west on i90 from Leavenworth. This drive in itself was absolutely breath-taking!

It was probably not the safest thing to drive as I’m attempting to take in the mountainous views, rivers, and finally, the city.

My jaw was dropped for approximately the entire 2 hour drive to Seattle.

Once I made it into the city, I paid an arm and a leg for parking, and was ready to explore!

I went to the fish market first, of course.

This market is legendary, and for good reason! Packed to the brim with people, produce, fish, meat, clothing shops, food shops, musicians, the list is endless.

It felt like I was stepping into another country!

It took a couple of hours to walk around this massive market! I also walked down to the pier with the aquarium and the Ferris wheel.

Seattle has seemingly endless shops and restaurants. They have used their space extremely well; catering to the locals as well as tourists.

After my walking tour of downtown Seattle, I met up with my friend from nursing school, Madi.

Since it was an absolutely flawless day out, we decided to enjoy the sun and go for a walk around a little lake close to her apartment called Green Lake.

Packed with people, but still so beautiful, we took this opportunity to catch up.

Nothing like catching up with old friends. She’s the kind of friend who you don’t text or call very often, but you meet up like no time went by. I treasure her friendship, for the previous reason, and because we ALWAYS do fun things when we get together.

Anyway, the walk was needed after the drive from Leavenworth.

When we finished the loop, we went home to get ready for a CONCERT!

This was the initial reason for the trip to Seattle.

Seeing Noah Kahan in concert!

If you have not heard of this musician, do it now. Have a listen. Let him change your life.

Madi and I went to a super cool brewery before the concert. It was called Optimism. The space was huge and wide open with large tables for community sitting. So fun!

Then the concert.

We danced the night away.

He was even more amazing live. Funny, talented, an amazing performer. It was absolutely everything I could have asked for!

Day 2:

IMG_1466.jpeg

You know me… started off day 2 with some coffee!

Victrola Coffee.

And it was the most amazing vanilla oat milk latte I have ever had.

That is NOT an exaggeration.

Perfectly sweetened, oat milk wasn’t burnt, lovely.

We also indulged in a yummy breakfast burrito and split some squash bread (I wasn’t sure about it either, but it was amazing).

We decided to take this second day of beautiful weather to go to a pumpkin patch!

We went to Bob’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, about 45 minutes outside of Seattle.

Driving through the beautiful fall country, of course we had to stop and say hi to the horses!

Bob’s farm was super cute! It had a fun area for kids to play, and 2 huge pumpkin patches!

But the best part was definitely the MAZE. This maze was ginormous!

We started out going through the maze blind, just turning where we felt like it. However, when we ended up back where we started, us OCD, type A nurses decided to follow the secret map that one of the employees informed us about.

This was totally cheating, but it was SO much better and more our flow, because following a busy map is no picnic either!

After some slight panic, laughter, and utter amazement, we made it out alive.

We picked out our non-traditional pumpkins, bought some delicious pumpkin doughnuts and apples, and headed back to the big city.

I wanted to do one more super touristy thing in the city, so we decided to check out the Space Needle!

It is $37 to go up the Space Needle and look at the view. $37. We decided that that was a bit too much, so we walked to the Amazon Spheres instead!

These spheres were engineered to create a natural space for the Amazon creators to be inspired by. The inside is an optimum climate for plant growth and oxygen production to allow for prime creativity.

We weren’t able to go inside of the spheres; you need an employee, or to arrive on one of the two Saturdays a month that they allow tours.

We did, however, go to the little information center underneath, as well as the classy, speakeasy bar that is also tucked away under the spheres.

We then trekked to Duke’s Seafood and Chowder for dinner, which is a famous chowder restaurant.

Wine, bread, salad, and chowder on the chilly night was delightful! And we sat right on Lake Union, with a beautiful sunset.

Day 3:

This final morning in Seattle was pretty relaxing.

I went back to Victrola Coffee for another amazing latte and little breakfast.

I walked around Capitol Hill for an hour or so, then decided to make the 4.5 hour drive back to CDA.

The drive was uneventful, but beautiful through the mountains east of Seattle.

Central Washington is much like eastern Colorado: flat and brown.

Finally, you hit Spokane and get into the beautiful mountains in CDA.

Overall, it was a short and amazing trip!

Shoutout to Madi for being an amazing tour guide and letting me crash with her!

Now, add this amazing city to your bucket list and enjoy the adventure!

Cheers,

Rach
